How local processing works

The short trip your image takes

Your image never needs a round trip across the internet. The useful work happens in the browser tab you already opened.

  1. 1
    You choose a file

The browser grants this tab temporary access to the selected image.

  2. 2
    Your browser processes it

Canvas and a background worker decode, transform, and re-encode pixels locally.

  3. 3
    You save the result

A temporary download is created. Close or refresh the page to clear the session.

A quieter way to work with images

Fast by design

Skip upload queues. Processing starts on the device already holding your image.

Private by default

Image bytes, filenames, previews, and results stay inside the current browser session.

Simple controls

Clear defaults and plain-language choices make common image work feel straightforward.

Useful worldwide

No account, cloud storage, or region-specific service is needed once the page is loaded.

Browser-tested formats

Use the formats your browser actually supports

PixelPrivate tests output capability at runtime instead of showing options that may fail.

Frequently asked questions

Privacy should not require detective work. Here are the practical details.

Do my images get uploaded?

No. PixelPrivate uses browser decoding, Canvas APIs, and local workers. The free tools do not send selected image contents to a server.

What happens when I close the page?

The current files and temporary previews are not permanently stored. Closing or refreshing the page clears the working session.

Which formats can I use?

JPEG and PNG work broadly. WebP and AVIF options appear only when your current browser can decode or encode them.

Is there a file size limit?

The free MVP accepts files up to 25 MB. Large images can still require substantial device memory.

Is PixelPrivate free?

The seven core tools are free and require no account. Optional professional features may be added later without blocking the core workflow.

Pro — coming later

The free tools stay useful

Optional upgrades can add scale and convenience later. Core single-image processing remains open without a forced account.
