The PNG is often larger than the WebP source.
Lossless output does not restore detail already removed from a lossy WebP.
Animation is not preserved.

Will the PNG keep transparency?

Yes when transparency exists in the decoded WebP. PNG supports a full alpha channel.

Why is the PNG larger?

PNG uses lossless compression, while many WebP images use lossy compression optimized for smaller delivery files.
